Megan Simmons is an avid violinist, educator, and administrator from South Bend, Indiana, with a profound commitment to advancing all facets of the music industry. She currently serves as the Academy & Operations Manager of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association. In this role, she oversees the Academy’s programs and operations, playing a pivotal role in the development and execution of educational and performance initiatives.

Megan’s dedication to teaching is evident from her extensive experience giving private and group violin lessons for eight years across institutions and youth orchestras in Indiana, Oregon, and California. Her students have achieved significant success, including a recent 2nd place finish at the Apex International Music Competition.

Her academic background reflects her commitment to excellence in music. Megan graduated magna cum laude from Ball State University with a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, studying under Professor Anna Vayman and earning the distinction of being the first recipient of the Hilary Hahn Scholarship. She furthered her studies at the University of Oregon, graduating summa cum laude with a Master of Music degree in Violin Performance with a Violin/Viola Pedagogy Specialization under Professor Hal Grossman. During her time at Oregon, she was offered a String Quartet Assistantship and received a Musicology Assistantship.

Megan's performance career includes regular engagements with the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and the Elkhart County Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed with notable ensembles such as the East Central Indiana Chamber Orchestra, Hendricks Symphony Orchestra, Anderson Symphony Orchestra, Kokomo Symphony Orchestra, and the Muncie Symphony Orchestra. Her masterclass experience includes sessions with Lucie Robert, Oleh Krysa, and the St. Lawrence String Quartet. In the summer of 2019, she served as a camp assistant and concertmistress at the Benefic Chamber Music Camp and has participated in prestigious events like the Aria International Summer Music Academy, the East Tennessee State University Chamber Music Camp, and the Emerald Coast Chamber Music Festival. Megan was also credited on Sutton Foster’s 2018 album Take Me to the World.

Through her roles at the Fischoff National Chamber Music Association and her teaching positions, Megan remains dedicated to fostering the next generation of musicians and contributing to the vibrant music community.
